The Plot to "Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla!"

The lone cell drifted into outer space from the third planet of the Terran solar system. It had been separated from a group of G-cells drifting in Earth's remotest upper atmosphere, and was floating along quietly until it came near a strange crystalline life form. The crystals buzzed with the life of the cosmic energy with formed it and supported it and gave it its being. Suddenly, the cell and the lifeform met.....

Over a period of five years, the mutated lifeform grew and developed. It was savage in appearance; the unforgiving teeth set wickedly along its cruel jaw; the crest set upon its ugly head like a proud crown; malevolence shone in its eyes. Suddenly, the evil in its genetic makeup took over entirely. Called by instinct, theG-cells within called it, called it back to the little blue planet that was third from the sun. Its intent was but a single one:

KILL. KILL. KILL...........

At length, it sent its awful crystal messengers to the little blue planet. The nighttime sky on Birth Island was tranquil, with stars twinkling merrily in their royal nighttime pageant. Suddenly the crystals appeared in the dome of the heavens as if two sinister angels had come to herald the presence of their evil master. The crystal comets slammed into the island, with the force of all the evil behind them, creating a shock wave that shook up even the King of all Beasts who lived underneath the briny ocean depths...

With the defeat of MechaGodzilla, the United Nations Godzilla Countermeasures Center commenced to build a new super-robot defense system. This defense,Mobile Operations Godzilla Expert Robotic Aerotype, or MOGERA for short, was, like its predecessor MechaGodzilla, based on the 23rd century technological specifications of Mecha King Ghidorah. However, unlike its predecessor, MOGERA could be separated into two separate vehicles. The upper torso and head became Land MOGERA, a hardy little version of MOGERA. The bottom torso and legs of MOGERA became the Star Falcon, a fighter ship of enormous combat capability. MOGERA, like the first SUPER X and MechaGodzilla, was to be operated by humans sitting within the cockpit. Truly, this was the most promising battle machine ever born...

Miki Saegusa now works as a doctor at the Psionics Center. She is to put it mildly, disturbed by what Professor Chinatsu Gondo has told her. The Telepathy Project, or T-Project for short, would involve a human agent shooting an 8-inch wide satellite-dishlike telepathic transmissions amplifier into the back of Godzilla's head near the base of his skull. Miki's telepathic communications could then commence. Under Miki's conscientious control, Godzilla could be kept from destroying any more human life. Miki is in a terrible dilemma when Dr. Okubo points out that her refusal would mean the military bringing in MOGERA. Miki goes to her office to think this over. She has a puzzling vision: Mothra flying into space with thousands of little fairy Mothras breaking off of him.

An expidition is sent to Birth Island. Shinjo Koji and Sato Kiyoshi set out to Birth Island to set up the arrangements for T-Project. Once there, they see the mysterious giant crystals sending signals toward the sky. A man named Yuki intercepts them and begins to build the T-project along withthem.
Miki makes her decision when the two tiny Cosmos appear to her in a vision. They inform her that a space monster is heading toward the earth to defeat Godzilla. Miki goes to Birth Island. Shinjo is awestruck upon seeing her beauty, though the first meeting kind of wilted when she criticized his military career.
The experimental control is a success until Dr. Okubo meddles with the psychotronic generator, shorting it. Shortly after, the space monster puts in an appearance and proceeds to terrorize Little Godzilla who lives on the island.
Drawn by the young one's cries, an angry Godzilla charges at the space monster, only to be beaten back and overwhelmed by the enemy's cosmic rays. The spacemonster imprisoned Little Godzilla inside a crystalline cage and a befuddled Godzilla heads back to the ocean to nurse himself back to health.

The experiment is declared a failure and everyone heads for Japan, except Miki who wants to remain behind with Godzilla and Baby, and Shinjo and Kyo,who want to guard her. Unfortunately, Miki is kidnapped by Okubo's henchmen, and Shinjo and Kyo are beaten up and bloodied.
Back in Japan, Professor Gondo tells a stunned Parliament that the space monster is a mutated version of Godzilla. During a battle with SpaceGodzilla that damaged it, MOGERA was able to pick up cell samples from the space monster. She outlined a couple of theses for them to mull over:

Thesis one: During Godzilla's 1989 encounter with Biollante, the latter went up in flames, releasing Godzilla cells into the higher reaches of the upper atmosphere;

Thesis two: When Godzilla did battle with Mothra, Mothra picked up G-cells on its insectine fuzz. When Mothra flew into space to change the course of the meteor poised to strike the Earth, G-cells detached themselves from Mothra's body.

Either way, once there, the cells drifted through the cosmic vacuum, being mutated further by cosmic energy and transforming themselves into another Godzilla. It was decided that this Godzilla should be called Space Godzilla because of its origin.
MOGERA was being repaired after its harrowing battle with SpaceGodzilla. The two had met in an asteroid belt and SpaceGodzilla had thrown the controls into shock, sending MOGERA spinning violently out of control.

Miki was being held prisoner in Okubo's clutches for a dark purpose: Okubo wanted to destroy Japan using Miki's brain wave patterns to entice Godzilla. Shinjo comes to her rescue; though not before witnessing Miki's first act of telekinesis.
The crook took the bed she was strapped to and overturned it, effectively turning her into a human shield. Miki levitated the bed so that Shinjo could shoot him in the leg. Miki is sprung, and Yuki, Kyo, Miki and Shinjo beat a hasty exit before SpaceGodzilla flies overhead killing Okubo.
Godzilla receives Miki's "transmission" and slices through the briny ocean water toward Japan. He appears in Kagoshima Bay and proceeds to tear up the city. SpaceGodzilla, meanwhile, turns Fukuoka into a crystal fortress and a graveyard.
On course to Fukuoka, Yuki's hatred of Godzilla takes over (for having killed Yuki's best friend Colonel Gondo several years earlier!) and he alters MOGERA's course to intercept Godzilla. After ignoring Shinjo's angry requests that they return to Fukuoko, Yuki gets knocked out cold. Shinjo then turns the ship around and goes to battle SpaceGodzilla.
MOGERA gets flattened by SpaceGodzilla's immense power.

Godzilla shows up and picks a fight with SpaceGodzilla. MOGERA splits into two halves. Land Mogera goes underground to hamstring SpaceGodzilla by destroying the tower that is feeding energy to SpaceGodzilla.
The two ships link back up and team up with Godzilla against SpaceGodzilla. Miki and Gondo sneak out to the battlefield to find their men. After MOGERA gets trashed, Yuki remains behind while Shinjo and Kyo eject. Shinjo and Kyo meet Miki and Gondo, and Kyo takes cover with the two women while a concerned Shinjo goes to rescue Yuki.
He finds Yuki dangling precariously by one foot from MOGERA's escape port.He goes to shoot the port with a gun. Suddenly he stops. In his inner ear,he hears Miki speaking to him. She uses her telekinesis to free Yuki.
SpaceGodzilla is ailing because the crystals on his shoulders had been shot off. Godzilla is still doing battle while Yuki and Shinjo escape. Godzilla uses his hyper-fire breath to incinerate SpaceGodzilla. The G-cells fly up toward space.
Godzilla, tired from a violent battle, heads back to sea. Miki uses her telekinesis to detach the telepathic transmissions amplifier from the backof Godzilla's head. The Cosmos appear to her and thank her for saving the world. The movie ends with Shinjo and Miki walking down the beach, holding hands and watching Godzilla swim off in the sunrise: "Well, pardner, looks like my job is done here...."
