Destroy All Monsters!
1999....a year of advanced technology. Man has erected a base on the moon and is able to transit back and forth between earth and moonwith the help of Moonlight SY-3. Man has also established an underground base on Ogasawara Island, living safely among the monsters dwelling there: Godzilla, Rodan, Mothra, Minya, Varan, Baragon, Angorus, Gorosaurus, Aspiga, and Manda. The electronice and ultrasonic barriers keep the monsters on the island.
All goes well until the scientists see yellow smoke pouring through the vents and from behind one of the doors. The monsters get gassed too; soon reports of monsters tearing down international cities start pouring into the HeadQuarters. Godzilla crushes New York; Rodan topples Moscow; Mothra mangles Peking; Manda tears up London; Baragon tramples Paris...and so on.
The astronauts, led by a young man named Katsuo, return to Earth to solve the mystery of why the barrier failed and why there are now ten monsters destroying city after city. He goes to Ogasawara to find...a nonchalant Dr. Otami, and an indifferent Kyoko. And someone else. A seemingly human woman, dressed in silvery flowing robes appears and tell them that she is Kilaak and that her people are taking over the earth; and also that they had better accept Kilaak rule without delay. They find that the woman is invincible to ordinary bullets. The astronauts escape as the gas fills the chamber once again. Once in Japan, Katsuo starts to question Otami, but the latter jumps from a window in self-destruction.
In the autopsy room, the coroner finds...a pellet of some sort behind the ear. It is quickly ascertained that this is some sort of remote control device used to control human beings and that the Kilaaks are also using a larger version on Godzilla and the other kaiju. Godzilla, Rodan, Mothra and Manda suddenly appear in Tokyo and raze it to the ground. All attempts to stop them are futile. Tokyo is once again reduced to a pile of smoking rubble. In Headqurters, Kyoko returns to tell the humans they will all be destroyed unless they consent to the Kilaak taveover.
Katsuo angrily tears off her diamond earrings, leaving blood running down her neck and returning Kyoko to normal. Kyoko breaks down in tears, and Katsuo shows that the earrings were actually remote control devices. Katsuo leaves in the SY-3, and as he's trying to land, Godzilla shows up and tries to nuke the spacecraft with his atomic breath. The military employ the usual useless missiles and rockets on the beast. Angorus shows up and then everyone starts shooting at him. Katsuo flies the SY-3 and finds a Kilaak ship heading toward Mt.Fuji (Fuji-san). Apparently the Kilaak base is there.
The men disembark in order to find the base, and then Godzilla appears out of nowhere and charges. The men conceal themselves quite well, and a frustrated Godzilla, unable to find them, goes on his way. The men finally find the entrance to the base and go inside. Once there, the Kilaak leader shows up on the scene and tells them that they are in fact not of Planet Earth. She tells them to surrender and then the Kilaak leader and the Kilaaks with her all disappear.
The scientists built a new control center on Ogasawara and try to study the Kilaak system of remote control. Katsuo flies off toward the moon to destroy the Kilaak base there. He destroys the remote control transducer and takes it to Planet Earth. The monsters are now under human control, and the humans don't waste time in turning the monsters against the enemy. They bring an entire army of kaiju to Fuji-san to destroy the alien base.
In retaliation, the Kilaaks call on King Ghidrah. Powerful as Ghidrah is, the combined efforts of the Terrible Ten prove to be too much. During the course of the battle, a falling Angorus created a deep pit in which the side of the Kilaak base can be seen.
After Godzilla and the others knock Ghidrah to unconsciousness, a "burning monster" destroys the Ogasawara base. No sooner had the Kilaak leader threathened the humans than Godzilla spots the Kilaak base. He angrily kicks the side of the bubble in, and the whole structure collaspes, burying Ghidrah in a mountain of rubble. Katsuo goes to destroy the "burning monster" in the SY-3 and finds that in reality, he has just mopped up the last of the Kilaak forces. Kyoko and Katsuo fly over Ogasawara in a helicopter and look at the wonderful monsters: Mothra, Gorosaurus, Baragon, Rodan, Angiles, Manda, Varan, Aspiga, Minya....and Godzilla!
